Marguerite Humeau, Afterkindling: the warmth that begins where life ends, the tenderness of a body becoming sustenance for others - the acceptance of dissolution., 2025. Julia Andréone.
252
Marguerite Humeau, Amoeba, 2025.
251
Marguerite Humeau, Ascendant Weft: the intimate resolve to keep rising without confirmation, the kind of becoming that can only happen when darkness removes expectation - leaving you free to ascend for reasons no light will ever reveal., 2025.
250
Marguerite Humeau, Centurience: possessing the primordial patience to outlast catastrophe by barely moving at all, knowing that sometimes the greatest revolution is simply refusing to hurry toward extinction. In darkness, there is no shame in remaining still, unfinished, and forever young. Completion is a kind of death, while eternal youth swims on for a hundred years., 2025.
249
Marguerite Humeau, Coalescaria: the co-formed presence of paired stalagmites becoming monuments through a shared long weather, the recognition that identity and strength deepen when grown together in obscurity., 2025.
248
Marguerite Humeau, Daphnia, 2025.
247
Marguerite Humeau, Darktwinning: the twin ascent of sister stalagmites formed by the same dripline, two bodies rising in parallel devotion, this is companionship without spectacle, a deep-time kinship that deepens only in darkness where no eyes compare that growth., 2025.
246
Marguerite Humeau, Dripkindle: the awakening sparked by root-tip droplets, each fall of moisture stirring bacteria, fungi, and minerals to life; the understanding that in darkness, the smallest pulse can rouse an entire system., 2025.
245
Marguerite Humeau, Fimbria, 2025.
244
Marguerite Humeau, Hexarthra, 2025.

Marguerite Humeau, Life in a Pile of Compost VI, 2025.
241
Marguerite Humeau, Life in a Pile of Compost VIII, 2025.
240
Marguerite Humeau, Limenescence: the quiet resolve to metabolise on the brink, living with just enough light, like root tips and algae at the cave’s mouth - making life from scarcity., 2025.
239
Marguerite Humeau, Noctilumen: the radiance of thin roots lit by microbial films, fragile strands glowing in absolute dark, a refusal to disappear, a brightness that exists only because darkness sharpens it., 2025.
238
Marguerite Humeau, Phantomflight: the dissolution of the self into a moving many, an emergence. The exultant blur of bodies that rise as one, an ecstatic unselfing possible only when vision falls away and motion becomes collective instinct., 2025.
237
Marguerite Humeau, Sacrilysis: the sanctity of decomposition, when breaking down becomes a form of becoming, and decay opens into meaning. A reverence possible only in darkness, where bodies transform unobserved and rise into something more than remains., 2025.
236
Marguerite Humeau, Softament (The Guardian of Mineral Memory): the accumulation of tiny, repeated acts of faith that eventually create monuments. Change that comes from persistence, that is not grand, but is geological, slow, patient, almost invisible. Like minerals accumulating, one molecule at a time. The power that comes from the consistency of natural forces in action. Monuments built from yielding rather than force, structures we build by flowing rather than pushing, proving that water’s weakness is its greatest strength., 2025.
235
Stillenary (Guardian of the Emergence): the paradox of creating movement through perfect stillness. Monuments built by barely moving water, emphasising the power of the seemingly powerless, how the gentle forces, given time, carve chambers from solid rock., 2025
234
Marguerite Humeau, *stirs, 2025.
233
Marguerite Humeau, The Dancing Bat: the one who circles, loops, and pivots through the roost not for display but for calibration - stirring stagnant pockets of air, redistributing warmth from clustered bodies, scattering cues that keep panic from blooming in the dark. It is the caretaker whose devotion is kinetic, a form of love expressed as continual motion, the willingness to spend its own energy so that others may rest in breathable stillness., 2025.
232
Marguerite Humeau, The Echolocation Maintainer: the one whose voice becomes the sonic thread holding the colony together in darkness, weaving connection from vibration - understanding that sometimes love is just making sure everyone can find their way back., 2025.
231
Marguerite Humeau, The Grape Transformation: the final merger where nourishment and identity collapse - when you’ve consumed so much sweetness in service to others that your body becomes an offering itself, ripening into what the colony needs., 2025.
230
Marguerite Humeau, The Guardian of the Night Roost: the vigilant love that stays awake so others can sleep, the one who faces the cave mouth while the colony dreams - knowing that someone must always be the threshold between safety and danger., 2025.
229
Marguerite Humeau, The Guardian of the Solution Pocket: protecting the secret hollows where the vulnerable hide, maintaining safe spaces in the rock that remember the shape of those who need shelter - the emotion of being a keeper of refuges., 2025.
228
Marguerite Humeau, The Provider Beyond Bloodlines: the radical generosity of nursing the hungry regardless of origin, when your body becomes a common - the dissolution of “mine” and “yours” at the level of sustenance, 2025.
227
Marguerite Humeau, Translucidency: the courage of flatworms whose organs glow through their skin, the willingness to be seen without shields - a vulnerability made possible only when darkness removes the need to hide., 2025.
226
Marguerite Humeau, Vasculeth: the quiet conviction that slow circulation creates growth, water moving through stone like a hidden lifeblood, a becoming possible only where change happens molecule by molecule - unseen., 2025.

Marguerite Humeau, Ghost map I, I drew: the traces of deers seen from satellites forming constellations. Have deers been draw-ing stars? I drew: holes and tiny leg foot prints I observed on the surface of the land. I drew: imagined burrows of voles, pocket gophers, ground squirrels and prairie dogs. The golden light, the fatigued soil, eroded and depressed (variations). Traces of machinery observed from satellites. Other traces of unidentified presences., 2022.
148
Marguerite Humeau, Ghost map II, I drew: the circle, ghosts of pivot irrigation systems and of their circular motions, wounds, 2022.
147
Marguerite Humeau, Ghost map III, I drew: the darkness of an industrial past, eroded soils, memory of the golden light and its variations. Memory of light. The sunset, flying seeds. Dormant seeds. I drew vulnerable, and healing plants, and plants oracles. The plants some call “weeds” may be living in our future already. Nomads, Russian Thistle, Tumble Pigweed, Tumble Ringwing, Burning Bush. Resilient living forms, Russian Knapweed, Canada, Mountains and Platte Thistle. Rain-dancers, Spurge, Japanese brome, Spike Bentgrass, Canadian Horseweed. 144
Marguerite Humeau, I - In the inky darkness of a termite mound, I found at its core the symbiotic fungus garden. In the first days of the mound, a primordial comb was insulated with spores brought in by the termites. The fungi then started to convert the dead and decaying plant material ingested by the termites into easily digestible complex sugars that they could feed on. I saw, the fungi fruit emerging from the ground, in the wind starting to dance, and spreading millions of basidiospores into the environment., 2022.
143
Marguerite Humeau, III - I observed the pulsations of a mound, like a lung inhaling and exhaling, porous, with branching passages., 2022.

Inspired by the plant Plantago Major that bears the signature of the feet to allow humans to feel firmly grounded, while shining a crown of thousand stars, connecting us to the cosmos.
139
